SUMMARY:Outdoor Botanical Illustration Class with The Art of Ecology
DESCRIPTION:Join Marissa of The Art of Ecology for a workshop geared towards getting you outside\, interacting and observing nature more closely! \nWe will learn more about the art and science of botanical illustration and how to better draw from natural settings. All drawing materials provided\, however you may bring your own if you like! BYOB. Event will take place outside\, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a mat or towel to sit on while drawing along the trails. In the case of rain\, we will meet inside for the presentation portion and to discuss “how” to photograph plants for botanical illustration\, then head out to quickly photograph the desired plant to draw from\, then head back inside to complete our drawing. \nDue to COVID19 and health concerns\, participants are required to wear a mask when indoors and social distancing will take place. All materials will be sanitized and cleaned before your arrival. Space is limited due to this concern\, so be sure to register early. \nREGISTER HERE. \n25% of all proceeds from this event are donated back to support Bucks Audubon’s high-quality environmental education programming.

Today is the last day of this beautiful exhibit. Visitors of all ages will enjoy a display of the winning photos as well as learn more about local bird life. \nIn the 10th year of the contest\, winning photos and honorable mentions were selected from 2\,253 entrants from all 50 states\, Washington D.C. and 10 Canadian provinces and territories to appreciate the wonder of birds and the places they inhabit. \nThis year\, judges introduced the Plants for Birds Prize and the Fisher Prize. The Plants for Birds Prize was awarded to the highest scoring photograph submitted in the Plants for Birds Division\, featuring birds and plants native to the area the photo was taken. The Fisher Prize was awarded to the photograph depicting the most creative approach to bird photography across all divisions: Professional\, Amateur\, Youth and Plants for Birds. \nWe hope that you enjoyed this photographic exhibit!
