DESCRIPTION:We get it; it’s hard when your child has off of school when you don’t! That’s why we created these “School Holiday Camps”. Drop off your child at 9am and pick them back up at 3pm after a fun-filled day of nature exploration and discovery! Remember\, you can register for one\, or all of the days – it’s up to you! \nEach day during March Spring Break features unique games\, hikes\, science experiments\, and crafts that all tie in to the week’s theme of habitats! \nMarch 26: Pond Dipping\nWhat types of animals live in the Audubon Pond? Let’s get our Pond nets and find out! (Water shoes recommended) \nMarch 27: Rotten Log\nWhat creepy crawlies lurk under the rotten logs that lie on the forest floor? Let’s roll some of them over and check them out! \nMarch 28: Creek Critters\nHow do animals not get swept away by the flowing water of our creek? We’ll take our stream nets and go flip over some rocks! (Water shoes needed) \nMarch 29: Fairy Gardens\nWhile we may not see them\, we like to think that our forest on the hill is home to fairies! Let’s use our engineering skills to build them beautiful homes for them to move in to and see if we find any toads or ants using them as well! \nMarch 30: Muddy Marsh\nSquish\, squish\, squish… The marsh is muddy! Why is a marsh important\, what does it do\, and what lives there? These are some of the questions that we’ll answer through out the day. It’s fun and easy and helps scientists understand what’s going on with our birds!\n\nThe data collected by observers over the past century allow Audubon researchers\, conservation biologists\, wildlife agencies and other interested individuals to study the long-term health and status of bird populations across North America. When combined with other surveys such as the Breeding Bird Survey\, it provides a picture of how the continent’s bird populations have changed in time and space over the past hundred years.\n\nThe long term perspective is vital for conservationists. SUMMARY:Healing Garden Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Join Bucks County Audubon Society as we proudly unveil our new Healing Garden! The garden was designed to provide a quiet and peaceful place for small groups of adults and children with autism and special needs to connect with nature.  Nature has been found to have many healing property for everyone\, but especially with this underserved audience. \nThanks to funding from Foundations Community Partnership\, BCAS has been able to work with partners Peaceful Living and horticultural therapist and landscape designer\, Nancy Minnich to create this healing oasis. Construction and planting of the garden has been done with adults from Peaceful Living\, BCAS volunteers\, Nancy Minnich\, and horticulture therapy student Joan Stelmach. \nJoin us as we celebrate the opening of this beautiful garden. The program will include sample horticultural therapy activities\, and a change for everyone to relax\, rejuvenate\, and reconnect with nature.
