Bird Walk Along the Paunacussing

May 16 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

Join Diane Smith, our Director of Education, for a casual, guided bird walk along Paunacussing Creek. Diane will help us identify birds by sight and sound while sharing insights into their behaviors, habitats, and seasonal movements.

Along the water, keep an eye out for ducks, loons, herons, gulls, and even majestic raptors like the Bald Eagle and Osprey. Venture into the surrounding woodlands and you may hear the songs of woodland warblers, spot busy woodpeckers, or catch a glimpse of owls and small hawks. In shrubby old fields, seasonal highlights include the elusive American Woodcock, the vibrant Indigo Bunting, and the striking Yellow-breasted Chat.

Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just curious, this walk is a great way to connect with nature and discover the incredible birdlife right in our backyard.

All are welcome—just bring your curiosity!

Meet at the Creekside picnic tables.
